Chrome extension for EMS QA reviewers
Check a finished chart without working from memory.
QAAssist reads a completed emsCharts PCR summary and tells you what needs a second look — so the checklist lives in the tool instead of in your head.
In development · Works alongside ChartAssist · No patient data is ever stored or transmitted.
What it does
One-click review
Open a chart's full summary and click QA Review. The checks run against what's actually on the chart and come back in a panel, worst first.
Points at the problem
Every finding has a Show on chart link that scrolls straight to the row it's about and highlights it. No hunting through the summary.
Stays out of the way
The button only appears on charts that have reached review level, and it tucks itself under the ChartAssist toolbar when both are running.
How it works
Open a finished chart
Go to the chart's full summary page. QAAssist watches for the chart's review level and shows its button once the chart is ready to be reviewed — never while it's still being written.
Click QA Review
A panel slides out listing every check that ran. Failures come first, then anything worth a look, then the checks that came back clean — so you can see what was covered, not just what broke.
Jump to what needs fixing
Click Show on chart on any finding to scroll to the exact row and highlight it. Fix it, reload the chart, and run the review again.
No patient data. Ever.
QAAssist has to read a chart in order to check it. That reading happens in your browser and nowhere else.
- Nothing leaves the page. The extension makes no network requests at all — there is no server for chart information to go to.
- Nothing is saved. Findings live in the panel until you close it. Only where you dragged the button and whether you prefer dark mode are remembered.
- It only runs on emsCharts. The extension is limited to emsCharts PCR pages and is inert everywhere else.
Interested in early access?
We're building QAAssist with the crews we already work with, so it isn't open to everyone yet. If you'd like to try it early, or help shape the checklist around how your service reviews charts, get in touch and we'll keep you posted.
QAAssist flags charts worth a second look. It is a reviewing aid, not a substitute for a qualified reviewer's judgment, and it does not certify that a chart is complete or correct.
