QAAssist is a Chrome extension published by Gardner Responder Technologies. It runs on emsCharts patient care report (PCR) summary pages and checks a finished chart against a QA checklist.

This policy describes what QAAssist does with information. The short version: it reads a chart in order to check it, that reading happens entirely in your browser, and nothing about the chart is stored or sent anywhere.

Patient information

To run a check, QAAssist reads the values already displayed on the chart summary page you have open. That information:

  • is read from the page in front of you, which you are already authorised to view;
  • is held in the browser tab's memory only, while the page is open;
  • is shown back to you in the review panel and discarded when you close the panel or leave the page;
  • is never written to storage, saved to a file, copied into a log, or transmitted.

QAAssist makes no network requests of any kind. It has no server, no analytics, no error reporting, and no third-party services. There is nowhere for chart information to go.

What is stored

QAAssist uses Chrome's extension storage on your own device for three small settings, none of which contain anything from a chart:

  • Button position — where you dragged the QA Review button, so it stays there.
  • Theme — whether you turned dark mode on.
  • Page-structure warnings — if an emsCharts update moves something QAAssist relies on, it records which page element it could not find, the page address, and the time, so the problem can be diagnosed. This record contains element names only — never a value from a chart.

These settings stay on your device. Nothing is synced to us, and nothing is sent to any third party.

Where QAAssist runs

The extension is limited to https://*.emscharts.com/pr/* and is inert on every other site. It requests two permissions and no others: storage, for the three settings above, and access to those emsCharts pages, because that is where it works.

Accounts

QAAssist has no accounts, no sign-in, and no password. We do not collect your name, your email address, or any identifier.

Children

QAAssist is a workplace tool for EMS personnel and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's release notes.
